Bio

 

Rob is a full-time artist, working full time in the Northeast of England since 2006 when he left his profession as an Interior Architect.

 

His work is based in oils, creating images by layering up paint and removing it again and again to create depth and movement.

​

He has supported himself solely through painting for the last 20 years. He began painting in 1993 when his parents relocated to just north of Whitby and he had his first solo show in 1996 at Castleton Studio Gallery, North Yorkshire. Over the years he has developed his own unique style and is constantly try to push his work to breaking point.

​​

He has shown and sold at the RA summer shows in 2012/13. He has also shown and sold large cityscapes in London, New York and Singapore. 

​

His work has been the subject of many magazine articles and he has appeared on national TV four times, The One Show, Countryfile, Antiques Road Trip and Coastal Lives.

​

He has currently represented by 12 galleries.

We are open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm, excluding Wednesdays during Winter.

​

Saturdays, 10am to 5pm.

Sundays closed.

How to get here​

 

There is street parking on St Hildas Terrace. The nearest car park is on Cliff Street.

 

We are a 5 minute walk from Whitby Train Station via Brunswick Street.
